Great Bustard flying

Welcome to Almodôvar Birding Center and Observatory in Alentejo, Portugal, where our passion lies in birdwatching and nature. Our center offers a unique opportunity to explore the European steppe habitat, home to the threatened Great Bustards and Spanish Imperial Eagles.

Additionally, we provide access to the Iberian Peninsula and surrounding islands, including Madeira, the Canaries, the Azores, and Cape Verde. This allows visitors to discover a variety of regional avian endemics and specialties.

The Complete and Combined Tour of Madeira and the Canary Islands

This trip plan aims to maximize endemics (species and subspecies) of all the island endemics, with 6 pelagic days of masterful chumming operations to photograph all the tubenoses in these waters.

The trip will be guided by Miguel Demeulemeester and Hadoram Shirihai, who have years of experience in finding and photographing the endemic land birds of these archipelagos, as well as years of research on the tubenoses living on these islands.

At this stage, we are only taking pre-booking interests, so please contact us to be placed on the list for further information.
